Know the geothermal energy facts and learn its uses

There are many resources available in the library as well as the internet from where you can get in depth geothermal facts and its uses. Geothermal energy is the energy which is generated deep inside the earth’s core where the temperature is hotter than the sun’s surface that is produced from the radio active decay. This heat can be utilized in the form of steam or hot water to generate electricity and to heat and cool buildings.

Let’s get started with the geothermal energy facts

The geothermal energy is found almost everywhere across the globe but the hardest part id finding the spot to extract it. This energy is extracted from geothermal reservoirs which are hidden below the surface of the earth and sometimes show up in the form of volcanoes, hot springs and geysers. When the magma comes close to the surface of the earth, it heats up the water that is trapped in the porous rocks. This is called hydrothermal which includes both water and heat. The most common way to find a geothermal reservoir is by drilling holes deep into the crust and testing the temperature. This is a commonly used method among many geologists.

These are some of the geothermal energy facts, now let’s look into the uses of this energy
The hot water from springs can be used directly to heat the building, geothermal plants use the hot water and steam for the generation of electricity and geothermal pumps use the water temperature to control the building temperature.
